Dola Purnima, also popularly known as Dolo Jatra, Doul Utsav or Deul, is a Hindu swing festival celebrated during the Holi festival of Braj region, Rajasthan, Bihar, Gujarat, [1] Odisha, Assam, Tripura and Bengal region. [2] [3] This festival is dedicated to the divine couple of Radha and Krishna. Holi, often referred to as the "Festival of Colours," is a vibrant and joyous celebration that marks the arrival of spring in India and various parts of the world. Dol Jatra in West Bengal and Dol Jatra is locally known as Dol Purnima and it is a festival where the fervor of Holi meets the gentle affection of Lord Krishna and Radha. In 2025, Dol Jatra is the main festival that will be celebrated on March 14-15, the time of the full moon (Purnima) of the Bengali month of Phalguna. Known as Holi in the rest of India, Dol Jatra—the festival of colours—is predominantly celebrated in the states of West Bengal, Odisha, and Assam with much pomp and gusto.
