Welcome to Slough Hindu Mandir. Slough Hindu Mandir was built by the Slough Hindu Cultural Society - formally opened in 1981 - it was the first purpose-built Hindu Temple in the British Isles. The purpose of worship in the mandir is to ‘have darshan’ of (or see) the gods and goddesses. Colours will start after aarti and pooja! This year I have 35kg worth of colour!! :-) The people of Slough came out in force last weekend to celebrate the Hindu spring festival known as Holi. Some 450 people participated in a day of celebrations on Saturday, March 11, which included DJ and music, dance performances, a Bhangra performance and colour play. The Holi event filled with ‘music, masti and colours’ is returning for a sixth year at Upton Court Road on March 23.
