This year is a bit different as the museum at Jorasanko is being restored and hence Basanta Utsav was not celebrated on the Jorasanko campus. Only the Emerald Bower campus celebrated. This year, the Basanta Utsav procession was led by students of the Dance department of the University. Holi on RBU campus is played with Palash flower petals and Managed by Rabindra Bharati University, this historic site hosts Basanta Utsav with cultural programs, music, dance, and the playful application of colors. The celebration offers a glimpse into the rich heritage of the Tagore family and their contributions to Bengali culture. On this day, the students of the university are dressed in yellow and dance to the songs of Rabindra Sangeet (songs written by Tagore). University students played various cultural programs on the occasion of Jorasanko Basanta Utsav. They perform dance and song (Rabindra Sangeet and Rabindra Nritya) etc. It is an exceptional event for all Tagore lovers. Inspired by Holi but infused with Tagore’s artistic touch, Basanta Utsav became a signature event at Visva-Bharati University.
