Holi is a Big ‘NO’ For Animals. As much as we enjoy playing with colours, these colours are not for dogs and cats. The hazardous compounds found in powdered pigments can cause skin reactions, rashes, and even blindness in dogs and cats. Don’t engage your dog in color play. Remember, what may be ‘safe and herbal’ for you may still not be safe for your dogs. If absolutely necessary, use turmeric, kumkum, neem or henna powder, or beetroot juice as pet-friendly colors to play Holi with your furry friends. Keep water and moisture away from your pet’s skin & coat. From skin irritation to poisoning if ingested, Holi colors are a looming threat to stray or pet dogs, cats, or cows.
